Dark Green School of Irish Dancing ledes af Julie Mørk
og Marianne Green, der begge er professionelle irske dansere.
Begge undervisere har opnået TCRG eksamen fra An Coimisiún le Rince Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commision)som gør dem til certificerede danselærere og er desuden tilknyttet danselæreren Ann Byrne fra McDonagh-Byrne School of Irish Dancing i Galway i Irland.
På Dark Green School of Irish Dancing underviser vi ud fra den traditionelle irske dansestil og undervisningsmetode, det vil sige at vi tager udgangspunkt i den originale dansestil og -teknik fra Irland, men arbejder samtidig også med moderne show-dance a lá Riverdance.
Alle kan danse irsk dans og opleve glæden og vitaliteten i irsk musik og dans. Skolen henvender sig derfor til alle, der har lyst til at danse irsk step dans. Du vælger selv i samråd med læreren det niveau, der passer dig bedst. Danseundervisningen er tilrettelagt som særlige forløb, der imødekommer forskellige behov. Vi lægger vægt på stil og teknik såvel som koreografi. Har du et højt ambitionsniveau har du mulighed for at udvikle og specialisere dig.

Irsk folkemusik og dans i primetime på TV2 lørdag d. 7 marts 2009.
Green Steps samlede 12 dansere fra Dark Green School of Irish Dancing der sammen med Martin O’Hare på Bodhrán og aftenens vært Rune Klan som ”lead” leverede åbningsnummeret til ZULU AWARDS 09 til musik af Moving Hearts.
Vi er stolte af at kunne præsentere irsk dans og musik til et så stort og flot et show som ZULU Awards.

All dances will be intructed so everyone can join the fun - no prior experience needed!

Lørdag d. 14. juni afholdes den årlige afslutning.
I år foregår det som en skolefeis med konkurrencer for både børn og voksne samt en opvisning i show koreografi.
Arrangementet foregår på Copenhagen International School, Hellerupvej 22-26.
Entré: 50,- kr (børn gratis ifølge med en voksen)

Opvisning på Nationalmuseét/Performance at the National Museum

Søndag d. 3. februar vil 8 af vores børn i alderen 8 - 15 lave opvisning med Irsk dans på Nationalmuseet i forindelse med Fastelavnsfesten.

Nordic Feis 2007

31 of our dancers competed at the annual Nordic Feis of Irish Dancing in November in Drammen, Norway.
On Friday night the Dance Drama team came in first place with the drama "The Battle of St. Patrick's Day" and the Dansuenza team came third with their choreography.
The solo competitions on Saturday was the first ever feis for 5 of the novice children and their hard work paid off with placings in the top 5.
The solo competitions ended successfully with Astrid Sweeney winning the Under 18 Nordic Championship followed by Madison Moran in 2nd place and Benjamin Bethell claiming the Over 18 championship.
We say a big congratulations to all the dancers who competed at the feis! |
